Osteopathic Physician

Osteopathic Physician 
Duties and Responsibilities: Osteopathic physicians use accepted methods of diagnosing and treating injuries and diseases.  Although they practice in all branches of medicine and surgery they differ by emphasizing the importance of the musculo skeletal system, holistic medicine, proper nutrition, and environmental factors in maintaining good health.  Osteopaths use a hands-on approach to medicine and frequently manipulate or palpate as part of diagnosis and treatment. They work primarily in osteopathic hospitals or private practice, however many allopathic hospitals now accept osteopathic physicians as staff members. The majority of osteopaths are general practitioners, or emergency medicine specialists.
Salary: $110,000
Education: After three or four years of college, prospective physicians must attend medical school.  Undergraduate requirements for admission to all medical schools include one year of basic chemistry, one year of organic chemistry, one year of biology, and one year of physics.  Some medical schools also require course work in calculus, English, the humanities, or social science.

Cytotechnologist

Cytotechnologist
Duties and responsibilities:
Cytology is the study of human body cells. Cytotechnogists  are specially trained clinical technologists who study human body cells. They examine cells to identify  changes that may indicate diseases like cancer.
Their duties include preparing microscope slides of cell samples, examining cell samples using microscopes, identifying  abnormalities in shape, size, or color, using other automated lab equipment to perform tests, and analyzing report test results to physicians.
Cytotechnologist usually work in hospitals, clinics, or private laboratories. They also work in universities or for other researchers.
Average salary: $30,000 - $50,000
Educational requirements: students should take the most challenging high school courses in science, math, and English.
Almost all cytotechnologists earn bachelor’s degrees in medical or clinical technology programs that include a year-long clinical internship in the field.
